In episode 82 of "The Reel-ists Podcast ", Oscar and Donnie discuss the long awaited comic book film "Venom" starring Tom Hardy. While many critics have slammed the movie for one reason or another, the box office numbers show that this is what many people want to see and have been waiting for, and that very contrast is mirrored in this episode. Oscar and Donnie both agreed that this film, unfortunately, took a very safe route and produced a very generic comic book film, with a predictable storyline and a cliche villain (who, by the way, was not very "villainous"). However, despite that, Donnie and Oscar still liked the film for its entertainment value. Both guys really liked Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, and even more so as Venom. Oscar pointed out that unlike the comics, Eddie and Venom are two seperate entities that have an actual dialogue, which he appreciated in the film.
