Journalist Karl Grossman has covered Long Island since 1962, including authoring the long-running Suffolk Closeup column in the Shelter Island Reporter. His recent book, published by The History Press, takes a look at "Cold War Long Island." Grossman recently spoke with our Susan Carey Dempsey about the book, Long Island's Cold War history and the threats we face today.
