Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Veteran NYC Jazz Pianist Steve Ash .. We caught up with him to talk about his impressive new 2024 CD You and The Night .. He is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and received bachelor’s degree in Jazz Piano at Indiana University. He has been performing in the New York City area as well as internationally for over 30 years. Some steady engagements have included Smoke Jazz and Supper Club, Arturo’s Coal Oven Pizza, the Rainbow Room, and Windows on the World. He has learned well from playing with masters like Jimmy Cobb, Louis Hayes, Eddie Harris, Harry Allen, Annie Ross, Mel Lewis, and Doc Cheatham. We cover a lot of ground in this one. Enjoy ..
