In this episode, we talk about the lead-up to the Tet Offensive.
While January 10 was marked by these specific movements, the entire month was a period of intense buildup for the most famous campaigns of the year:
The Siege of Khe Sanh: Eleven days after these events, on January 21, North Vietnamese forces began a 77-day siege of the U.S. Marine base at Khe Sanh, which many initially believed was the primary communist objective for the year.
Tet Offensive Preparation: Communist forces were in the final stages of positioning 80,000 troops for a countrywide surprise attack that would ultimately strike over 100 towns and cities starting on January 30–31.
