[email protected] is an American, but moved to Sweden over a decade ago. He formed Viagra Boys with a number of established Swedish musicians in 2015. The band's first album, Street Worms, came out in 2018. Its best known track is 'Sports', a kind of absurdist commentary on sport's place in culture. Like much of Viagra Boys' best work, 'Sports' firmly inhabits the realm of the bizarre. The interview centres on Sebastian's lyrics – where they originate from, what his intentions are and how this compares to the public and media perception of his lyrics. Turning heads is recorded on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation; the traditional custodians of the land. I pay my respects to their elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded.
