Hello, beautiful people of this wonderful community. It's a privilege to finally be a part of the Hive ecosystem. My name is Adesuwa Ogiesoba, and this is my first post on Hive and my entry to Vibes Web3 music competition.
My friend @ibbtammy told me a lot about the Vibes Web3 Music competition, and given that I love to sing I couldn't help but jump on it.
I want to thank @ordbutterfly for creating this opportunity for young musicians like me to showcase our talents on Hive.
I did a cover of ‘Olurun Agbaye’ by Nathaniel Bassey. For a music lover like me, I am always on the lookout for songs that edify the soul and this particular song by Nathaniel Bassey soothes my soul. I love the Yoruba verse of the song and the little touch of the talking drum being played at the ending part of the song. Olorun Agbaye is a Yoruba song that means ‘You are mighty’.
This song focuses on the mightiness of God. It tells the extent to which God can go in doing things that humans cannot comprehend
Looking back at my life, I see the mightiness of God in all ramifications of my life. I remember how my life wasn't going exactly as I wanted and how I would constantly second-guess myself and feel like I was not good enough.
I remember how people mocked and laughed at me because I had not gotten married while my peers were getting married, I heard so many side talks but in all, I trusted God and had it at the back of my mind that marriage was not a yardstick for measuring how successful a woman is and that everyone has their own time.
In those sad moments, I constantly listened to ‘Olurun Agbaye’, and every single time I did, I felt refreshed and my hope was renewed.
Fast forward to today, I got me my own MAN, a man who loves and cherishes me and we are set to get married in a few months😃
This song has always been my go-to song whenever I am down.
I share this song with you all and maybe just someone out there might just need the strong lyrics of these words to comfort them.
You are Good, you are kind
You can find the full lyrics of the song here.
