Almost Twenty-Four years ago, on October 7, 1998, in Laramie, Wyoming, Matthew Shepard was tied to a split-rail fence. The openly gay man was beaten and left for dead by Aaron McKinney and Russel Henderson just because they were homophobic. This senseless crime was heard around the world and after Matthew's death, the Hate Crimes Prevention Act was passed. This story is a reminder to love one another and just be kind!
