What does it mean to be victorious as a Christian? Don't you know your victory is assured only if you enter a battle?

As children of God, we are expected to depend on Him. We often rely on our ability, and this leads to struggle. Our self is limited, while our God is unlimited. Can we be Christians if we do not depend on Him? We know we live a life of victory in our minds, but how do we translate that to physical victory?
