Our industry has a problem with diversity. That problem is something we all share. I am in no position to tell anyone else how to fix this issue. I am grateful for the opportunity to create a more reflective episode dedicated to what I know I can do to improve the problem. I think making things equitable in our industry is something that is going to take a sustained conscious effort from all of us. Too often, our efforts to improve diversity stop at casting. If we strive only for diversity in front of the camera and not behind it, then we are only aiming for the appearance of inclusion, and I consider that to be a hard truth.
