Our understanding of Thyroid Eye Disease has been slowly increasing over the decades since his roles, but we still don't have a magic bullet to manage this complex condition which affects our patients in so many different ways.
Future treatments will likely move beyond current anti-inflammatory and surgical interventions, and towards more personalized, targeted therapies, including new biologic treatments.
I've just returned from the EUGOGO meeting in Warsaw, where both Ophthalmology and Endocrinology were well-represented, and it is an exciting time.
