War Veteran, Mr. Clarence Ellis Sanders, Jr., was born to Clareance Ellis Sander and Daisy Bell King Sanders after WWII on December 15, 1946. He grow up in Delray, Flordia. He came close to dropping out of school, instead he started attending night school. While he went to school at night the Army drafted him. During his time fighting in the Vietnam war he wnted to record what was going on around him. So he picked up a pad and started to write. Sanders didn't know he had written a poem until he showed it to somone else. He lost a lot of those poems. He decided to keep writing to use his poetry and share his story of his life, which inlcudes losing a wife to cancer and a 20-year-old son in a car accident. He recieved many awards, one of them was from the Treasury Department commending him for his (almost 40 years) of service.
