Hello Vigil listeners, Adam Qutaishat here with a short update on Vigil Season 2 and another show we think you'll love. We are actively working on scripts. Actors are recording lines. And we're gearing up for the next stage. A stage that will only be possible with your help. So please stay tuned as things are definitely on the way... just maybe be patient. I know I'm having to be. I want nothing more than to make Season 2 something you can all listen to, but the world and other obligations make timelines hard. Especially when we don't want to rush and release something that isn't up to our standards. All that to say. Soon...ish.
As for what you can do right now, you can listen to this episode of Dirt! Dirt is a mystery, a treasure hunt, and an exploration of relationships past and present. Sounds like a Vigil fans dream already. Dirt follows Joseph Elo, a tech celebrity who receives a mysterious letter in the mail from his grandfather — who died 30 years ago. The letter kicks off an fantastical journey that sees Joseph examine his priorities, his relationships, and ultimately, with what he wants to do with the rest of his life. Dirt is great because the show tells a compelling mystery without enormous stakes. Things are exciting because we want to solve the puzzle and see Joseph grow, not because the world is about the explode. And I, for one, find that refreshing. So check out Dirt Chapter 1 and subscribe to their feed to hear the rest of the story.

Hello Vigil listeners, Adam Qutaishat creator and voice of Vigil here. Today we have another podcast in the feed for you that we think you'll enjoy. If you are a dedicated listener of our show, you probably like podcasts that sound like podcasts. That is to say, fiction podcasts that sounds like non-fiction podcasts. Well if that's true, I urge you to check out Josie's Lonely Hearts Club. A show that is an audio fiction podcast about a non-fiction audio podcast! Josie's Lonely Hearts Club is a semi-scripted audio drama set in New Mexico's 2nd Best relationship call in show. On-Air, Josie mends the broken hearts of a weekly collection of improvisors, while Off-air, we get to hear who she really is (and also get to know some of her co-workers). The combination of scripted audio drama and improvised humor blends splendidly. You get to know and care about the people working on the show, namely Joanne (the alter ego of Josie), and then the added element of improvisation brings such a breath of joy and electricity to the show. If you dig banter, relationship drama, humor, improvisation, and long term character building, then we think you should give Josie's Lonely Hearts Club a chance. And if you listen on, you'll get a chance to hear episode one right now. If you like the show, make sure you subscribe to their feed for weekly content. Transcript of Introduction:
Hello, Adam Qutaishat, the creator and producer of Vigil, back again with more info about our quest for season two. I think we’re just a few weeks away from the big announcement of our next step, hopefully. These things take time and the last thing we want to do is rush to something that isn’t going to work. We’re committed to making a great season on terms that work for our artists. We thank you for your support and understanding in making that happen.
And I don’t have a good segue for this week, so I’m just going to tell you about Psychopomos: a New Mythology. Psychopompos is a retelling of Greek Mythology the way it was always meant to be told, diverse, queer, dramatic, sensual, and filled with personalities that are fit for the Gods, Goddesses, and Goddexxs that inhabit it's political and tumultuous world. Psychopompos is not only one of the coolest podcasts out there, but it features several Vigil actors in its cast! One of them is Shayne Patrick, our brilliant voice over artist. And another is me, Adam Qutaishat! I play Hermes! And I don't just say this because I'm in the show, I truly mean it: I love Psychopompos. I'm such a fan of the writing and the storytelling. There's so much packed into each episode. You get deep cuts into the mythology for all you lore folks, and you get political and family drama on pace with your Successions of the world, while also feeling truly like your listening to a modern classic! Like, classic classic. Anyway, I could wax poetic about Psychopompos all day, or, I could tell you that we have the very first myth coming up in just a few seconds. If you like it, make sure you subscribe to their feed to get all that Godly goodness! Hope to see you on Mount Olympus. And now Psychopompos: A New Mythology - Weaving Contest.

Hello,
Adam Qutaishat, creator of Vigil, here again to update you on our progress and share a cool show with you while you wait. We’ve got a new newsletter out this week, so make sure you’re subscribed for exclusive lore about the world of Vigil. You can do that by visiting vigilpod dot com. Also, if you’re interested in helping out the show, leave a review if you can, on your app of choice.
Another thing you can do on your app of choice is check out Windfall, yet another excellent show on the Fable and Folly network. Windfall is the story of Cas and Kendall, two low-level criminal enforcers trying to navigate life on the surface of a giant city. But they’re being pursued by a cult-like police force, the Wolfpac, who serve the city’s God Queen Wanda. Will they take down their dangerous employer and protect their family or maintain the status quo?
Political, personal, and thrilling are words I use to describe windfall. You learn about a massive world from the people who live there. Regular people just trying to get by. Fans of Vigil will enjoy the way they learn of a system and it’s corruption by experiencing its impact on the characters as they try to navigate it. Windfall was nominated for 12 Audioverse awards in 2019 and season two is slated for release in 2024. That’s this year! So if you want to explore the wild, sci-fi world of Windfall, now is a great time. You can learn more and see credits and transcripts at Windfall Podcast dot com. And now Windfall Episode 1: Bottom Feeder.

As we continue to move towards a Season 2, we want to share some awesome shows we love. Today we share Give Me Away, by the brilliant creators at Gideon Media!
---
They call the spaceship that crashed in the Nevada desert “The Ghosthouse” because it screams—the screams of thousands of extraterrestrial political prisoners uploaded into its horrific mainframe. The only way to free them... is to transfer them into the bodies of humans willing to share their minds with an alien second consciousness. But who would volunteer for that? Graham Shapiro, divorced and adrift at age 50, is one of the first to raise his hand. Give Me Away follows Graham’s journey into a world of radical hospitality, one which will touch everything—and everyone—in his life.
Written by Mac Rogers, directed by Jordana Williams, sound designed by Bart Fasbender, music by Adam Blau. Cover art by Kate Kosma.
