Adopting St. Alphonses Legorio’s teaching on invincible ignorance, as finding it a valid pastoral approach to omit teaching a penitent in friendship with God the awareness of an act that they are currently doing as being sinful, due to the assumption that if it is believed that the penitent would become aware that his act is a sin would still do the act and therefore formally mortally sin (because he isn’t ready to follow that rule as of yet due to immaturity in faith as of yet), could be the reason why pedophilia continues to remain systematic within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. It could be that Bishops don’t find these priest culpable of their pedophilia acts due to the invincible ignorance that it is a sin
