Jesus has all authority, but knowing that isn't the same as surrendering to it. The religious leaders had enough evidence to recognize Jesus, but repentance would cost them the throne of their hearts. Jesus reminds us that surrender isn't what we say—it’s how we respond: real repentance turns & bears fruit. Jesus exposes their hearts & invites us to get off ours—to trust the King whose authority leads to life.
Jesus uses the Fig tree as a practical & corporate parable, showing us that Israel, full of leaves, looked righteous, but had no fruit. Jesus reminds His disciples that HE is God, full of authority, while also showing them that their faith & prayers will build the Kingdom. May we at Vintage have mountain moving faith, seen through our prayers & obedience.
Jesus, the King, walks into the temple with authority like no other. He cleansed the temple then and He’s cleansing hearts today.
The city asks the most important question any of us will ever answer: Who is Jesus?
Matthew shows us: the Messiah—the humble King, arriving exactly as God promised. As big of a party as this is, the emotional electricity and magnitude of this moment cannot be overstated, even if the crowd—and often we ourselves—still fail to grasp it.
Matthew shows us Jesus as…
Jesus is the Messiah, who gives sight to the blind.

Just as Jesus came to serve, by offering up his life, kingdom people experience and express the kingdom through service.
Jesus is better and worth far more than anything this world has to offer. For us to experience the riches of treasure in Christ, we must trade any temporary idol we are holding onto, in order to receive the greatness of life He offers us.

Jesus calls us beyond the values of our day to God’s original design intended for His glory and our joy, while also making clear, His grace is available to all of us who live in this broken world.
