Nienke van Houten has had a deep fascination with infectious diseases since a young age. She is now a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Programs at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. She teaches courses on infectious diseases, animal virology and immunology. Her PhD is in anti-viral vaccine design and she has research experience in antibody targeting vaccines, mucosal immunity and animal viral infection models.
