Virgin Australia has launched pet-friendly flights allowing animals to travel in cabins on routes between Adelaide and Melbourne, as well as Adelaide and the Gold Coast. South Australia becomes the third state to offer the service, following Victoria and Queensland, where over 1,500 pets have already flown. Flights are available from late 2024 through September, with Melbourne routes extended to January for the Christmas period, and Virgin plans to expand the service more broadly in the following year.
