This is the year that Virtual Clinical Trials in Pharma R&D gets serious. Clinical trials are expensive and just slow, especially when it comes to the last mile - researchers doing the final interviews. As digital health and e-health technologies improve, more pharma companies are turning to virtual clinical trials.
There are a lot of advantages to virtual clinical trials and the number one advantage is reducing cost, better access and better patients’ experience.
Why participate in a Virtual Clinical Trial? Simply put, they’re more convenient and encourage more people to participate. There are several reasons for this. Participants don’t have to live near a clinical trial location, which makes them more useful for patients who live in rural areas or those with mobility issues. Many virtual trials can be completed at home, eliminating the burden of traveling to and from a trial or hospital, and reducing travel expenses that can be incurred during traditional trials.;
