During the Covid 19 pandemic, construction was unique in comparison to most sectors in that some elements were deemed essential, while others were not. While the dividing line between who was essential and who wasn’t was the source of controversy, for those operating, health and safety measures, were put in place to secure sites and protect the workforce. As we move beyond the pandemic to re opening our economy, what is the new normal for this sector? Are the existing health and safety measures enough? Should the construction sector scale up more quickly than the rest of the economy? Will construction projects be the path back to economic recovery and can the sector ramp up safely to meet this need?

Join four industry leaders representing labor and construction companies in a discussion with Ana Bailao, Deputy Mayor of Toronto as they share their views on the roadmap to getting the industry up and running safely again.

Panelists:

Gianni Agozzino, President and Partner, Network Mechanical Inc.; President, Metropolitan Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association, MPHCA

Patrick J. Dillon, Business Manager and Secretary Treasurer of the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario
