Virtual Session 4 - Innovative public health messaging on COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples

This session, Innovative public health messaging on COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples, brought together expert speakers who work in regional and national Indigenous organizations across Canada, including:

- Regional Chief Marlene Poitras and Regional Chief Kevin Hart, Assembly of First Nations

- Patricia D’Souza, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami

- Dr. Eduardo Vides, Métis National Council (MNC)

- Jocelyn Formsma, National Association of Friendship Centres

These presentations focused on the innovative development of community and distinctions-based public health messaging on COVID-19. Regional and national organizations took immediate and on-going actions to develop and share credible public health information on the pandemic. They did this through the development of fact sheets, infographics and videos. The panelists spoke to these knowledge sharing formats and the lessons they learned along the way for demystifying information and reducing stigma around COVID-19.

Séance virtuelle 4 -Messages de santé publique novateurs sur la COVID-19 et les peuples autochtones

Cette séance, Messages de santé publique novateurs sur la COVID-19 et les peuples autochtones, a réuni des conférenciers experts qui travaillent dans des organisations autochtones régionales et nationales à travers le Canada, notamment :

- Cheffe régionale Marlene Larocque et Chef régional Kevin Hart, Assemblée des Premières Nations

- Patricia D’Souza, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami

- Dr Eduardo Vides, Métis National Council (MNC)

- Jocelyn Formsma, Association nationale des centres d'amitié.

Ces présentations ont abordé le développement innovant de messages de santé publique portant sur la COVID-19 fondée sur la communauté et les distinctions. Les organisations régionales et nationales ont pris des mesures immédiates et continues pour développer et échanger des informations de santé publique crédibles sur la pandémie. Pour ce faire, elles ont élaboré des fiches d'information, des infographies et des vidéos. Le groupe d'experts a parlé des façons innovantes d'échanger les connaissances et les leçons qu'ils ont apprises en cours de route pour démystifier les informations et réduire la stigmatisation autour de la COVID-19.
