This months question is 


“What is your best advice for your clients to help them build strong relationships with their customers?”


As the Numbers Guy – I am always going to say Trust the Numbers and be true to them.

Customers want to know that you are working in their corner and as Fay Chapple from Fay Chapple International says – walk in their red shoes – in other words think like they do and understand their pain points and work to solve them.

We cover this topic in detail in the opening module – as if you approach things in a negative 


Here at Miles Better after starting to work with new customers  – I am often asked why I am referring to the  business as WE rather than they – this is simply because I believe that when working with a customer I want them to know that I am making the decisions on the numbers as if it was my business

So my overriding advice for all elements of building strong relationships is be true to your self – there is a great saying that I came across during my years of mentoring and coaching – Be yourself as everyone else is taken…..


As you can see from my dress code – I am not your normal Business mentor or accountant – and in fact I have become known for my crazy business shirts and clients reach out and ask when I will be show casing the latest new purchase.


This reflects my style and allows me to be true and also shows my customers how much energy I have and will bring to their business


This can be applied to your numbers too – they need to be accurate and timely so they can help you make decisions that support your goals and not someone else


Numbers are by nature boring to many people but to me they are the alpha and the Omega and if you trust them they will help you at every stage


One of my core pillars for our business is to be the Yoda to your business journey and so relationships come in all sorts of approaches – from being your business conscious when you want to spend cash you don’t have to being there to help blue sky an acquisition or new idea


But to ensure I builder stronger relationship I always get them to TRUST the numbers


So I hope that small piece of advice about being true to yourself and being the supporting role when it comes to your customers helps in some way
