In this portion of Lecture, we discuss what a virus is, why it’s harder to treat, and how they evolve. We also discuss the basics of vaccines and focus on the COVID vaccines in development. We lastly touch on what an emerging infectious disease is. Enjoy!

Hey y'all! Thanks for showing up to Lecture. Each week we will be tackling various scientific topics I feel are most relevant to us both as individuals and as a society. With advent of the 2020 pandemic, I believe we have all become more acutely aware of how widespread misinformation and scientific illiteracy is within our (American) society.
