Episode transcript:
Welcome one and welcome all to the very first episode of the visibility hacking radio show, I am your host coach Molly from visibility hacking.com And in this podcast we are going to explore a variety of different ways that you and your small business can level up your visibility.
Here in the movement we are all about increasing our influence, our authority, and our income online. And over the next few episodes I will introduce you to some of the important foundational theories and strategies that we use in the movement to help small businesses just like yours.
I'm very excited to share not only all of these concepts and strategies with you but to introduce you to some of the most inspirational thinkers and inspirational entrepreneurs that I have had the privilege of getting to work with and getting to know over the past couple of years, diving really deep into the World of Internet Marketing. But the thing is, we do more than just internet marketing. We've been able to tap into the over $50 billion streaming industry Yes, that is billion with a B. And we have been able to harness those same strategies that are really helping streamers make millions of dollars online, engaging their communities in beautiful ways, and we're able to transport those same strategies, tools and tactics for you, be small business owner here in the World of Internet Marketing.
So this episode we're going to talk about what Visibility Hacking is in the first place. So Visibility Hacking is one of those rather vague terms, that if you ask 10 people you're going to get 11 different answers of what visibility means. So in the world of business and visibility is an internal word that we use, it refers to ensuring that your entire team regardless of where they are in your hierarchy of your business, that everyone understands the same, the same road that everyone's about to take the reading from the same map, if you will. Think of it this way, if you have your C suite executives, you have your CEOs and they write down a plan that they want the company to go in a particular direction, how you test the visibility is by checking with the rest of your employees to make sure that they have that same idea in mind; that they have the same vision for the future. I'm not saying that they have to be the ones who come up with the idea, but that they know the direction that the company is moving in.
I read this really great Seth Goodin book recently, and he was talking about how the best $1,000 A CEO could ever spend is by simply rewarding your employees with like 10 bucks at a time, five bucks at a time, a free coffee, something like that. Simply by walking through the office and asking your level lower level employees about what the goals and strategies are that the upper level management are using.
