Did Jesus start a religion? That is found a particular religion? Yes, he did. He founded the Catholic Church. It has been the visible reality of the kingdom of God even when those who say they are Catholic do not live its teachings. The idea of the spiritual nature of the Church is not a way around sinful "weeds" like pedophile priests being apart of her visible nature but is the reason why we must look at the Church with eyes of faith to see the reality of God in her as the reason why she is the religion Christ started some 2000 years ago in history.
