Acts and Exodus parallel nicely together, with both depicting the formation of the people of God. The opening section of Acts sets the tone for the whole narrative of the rest of the book, and it’s crucial to understand if we as a church are to live out the same vision for God’s people seen in Exodus (and all throughout scripture). From Acts 1:1-2:12, we are reminded that God empowers the church with His Holy Spirit through the work of prayer to bear Christ’s witness.
