Ever since my wife and I moved to the Washington, D.C. area, we try to get out and walk as much as possible. And this is a great walking city. One of our favorite spots is the National Mall, the wide, grassy expanse between the Capital and the Washington Monument and then the Lincoln Memorial.
We had come down to the Capital three days before the chaos, to try and get a picture for a New Year's Card. And we decided to go back down there three days after. And obviously there was quite a contrast.
Lots of fencing, and lots of National Guard troops. This isn't a very long episode, but you are invited to join my wife and me as we walk around the Capital.
