Visualization and Simulation_004

Listen Later

Visualization and simulation are powerful mental performance techniques which help create mental images or scenarios in your mind to practice and prepare for a particular activity or situation. They allow you to create realistic or close-to-realistic environments in which to practice or rehearse.

The power of these techniques comes from the brain's inability to distinguish between what is real and what you tell it is real. This can be both beneficial and hurtful, as it can lead to performance anxiety but also be used for mental rehearsal.

Visualization and simulation can improve concentration and focus, build confidence, develop strategies, improve performance, enhance mental toughness, and increase enjoyment of sports.
