The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of about 105,000 Vitamix blending containers. Per their report, "the containers can separate from the blade’s base exposing the blades, posing a laceration hazard to consumers." Specifically, the recall affects the Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers. There have reportedly been 11 incidents of customers suffering from lacerations after coming into contact with the blades.
