[We thought they were extinct… ]

It turns out that some of the volcanoes that created the island of Taiwan are dormant, not extinct. Researchers recently discovered clues that point to an eruption about 6,000 years ago. Now, seismologists are developing a warning system to alert people in the event of an eruption.
