This is the first of many episodes where we will feature one of my dad’s favorite trumpet players. I already told you in a previous episode how both my dad and I played the same trumpet in our high school bands.
My dad ended up with a dozen Tijuana Brass records and a couple of Alpert’s solo albums. So I thought I would start with the very first one, not necessarily the most popular.
We also listened to the TJB many times together. So let’s get off and running as we call out the mariachi band and and the matador for Volume 6: Herb Alpert the Lonely Bull
