Professor Serge Belongie har fået en vild idé. Han leder Pioneer Centre for AI og er en af kræfterne bag det nye nationale Center for Kunstig Intelligens i Samfundet, CAISA. I et ambitiøst projekt, han kalder ’VoresAI’, undersøger Belongie nu, hvordan vi kan udvikle en helt ny AI-infrastruktur, der bygger på nordiske værdier som gennemsigtighed, tillid og menneskefokus. 

Hvordan undgår vi en fremtid, hvor algoritmer sætter grænser for vores spørgsmål – og hvor offentlige tjenester outsources til Big Tech? Og kan vi – gennem fællesskab, åbenhed og demokratisk handlekraft – skabe et helt nyt digitalt system, vi faktisk kan have tillid til?

[ENGLISH VERSION] 'OurAI': A civic alternative to Big Tech

When you contact public authorities, you're rarely met by a human being – you get a chatbot. And if things really go wrong, you're redirected to a Facebook group. But what if artificial intelligence could actually work for the citizens – not just the system?

Professor Serge Belongie has had a bold idea. He heads the Pioneer Centre for AI and is one of the driving forces behind the new national Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society, CAISA. In an ambitious project he calls “OurAI”, Belongie is exploring how we might build an entirely new AI infrastructure based on Nordic values like transparency, trust, and human-centered design.

How do we avoid a future where algorithms limit the questions we’re allowed to ask – and where public services are outsourced to Big Tech? And can we – through community, openness, and democratic agency – create a new kind of digital infrastructure that we can actually trust?
