In a significant judgment, a two-judge bench of the Supreme Court has ruled that the right of voters to know about each and every moveable property owned by candidates contesting elections is not absolute. This order is significant because it comes at a time when the right to information on electoral bonds has been cleared by the Chief Justice's court in the name of transparency. So the question is whether the transparency that we seek in our democratic processes may in fact be impacted.
