Voting is important. The spirit of public health is the health of everyone, the entire population, and therefore it is imperative that everyone gets to vote. When we typically think of voting, we think about the big ticket positions like the president, US Senators or US Representatives. But when it comes to the laws and policies that actually have the most impact on our lives, they pertain to a whole separate area of voting that often flies under the radar. Local elections have the most intimate and proximal impact on our daily lives and our health. This episode discusses not just why voting matters, but why voting in local election is so much more important than most people may believe.
