The Captain Crypto Show is a podcast produced with the intention of helping beginners navigate the technical and confusing nuances of the cryptocurrency space. We briefly go over my credentials as a Software Engineer for Airbitz, an organization that creates mobile and web applications for securing your private data including cyptocurrency private keys. We define the terms currency, crypotography, and cryptocurrency, and then define what Bitcoin is. Then we cover the 6 characteristics that make a currency valuable and gauge how Bitcoin, fiat money, and gold perform on each of those criteria. Later we tell the story of the first Bitcoin transaction before saying farewell and lead into our second episode which will cover "How Do You Get Bitcoin and How Do You Store It?"
