Dea Irby is a realtor from North Carolina who has lived in five southern states, served churches with her pastor/husband, and owned and operated a tea room. She is passionate about building real community and has eight children, born in 15 different homes.

Dea Irby experienced a series of life-altering events when moving from Mississippi to Georgia. One night on a dark four-lane highway, Irby had a car accident that she thought had killed her mother. When she stumbled out of the van, she saw two bodies lying in the grass, having been killed by her in a tragic accident. The incident taught her to trust in something bigger, especially during times of distress and pain. She learned that life is full of unexpected events and to live her life with purpose and resilience.
