1 Peter 5:6 So be content with who you are, and don't put on airs. God's strong hand is on you; he'll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.(Msg). To put up airs is to put up manners to try to impress. God desires you get to that point in your relationship or walk with Him, where you do not act or feel like you are walking on egg shells around Him. You don't lose your reverence of Him and you can tell Him just about anything as it is s doing you; the good, bad, ugly, dirty etc with all humility and sincerity of heart, no pretence with God.
