Don’t be Fooled by Food Fraud!
According to Michigan State University’s Food Fraud Initiative, food fraud is “a collective term used to encompass the deliberate and intentional substitution, addition, tampering, or misrepresentation of food, food ingredients, or food packaging; or false or misleading statements made about a product, for economic gain.” There’s a database that keeps track of thousands of food fraud cases, and you can access it for 30 days for a mere $350. Don’t have an extra $350 just lying around? In this episode of the Vegetarian Zen podcast, we share a few of the most common food frauds to watch out for.
