WA Podcast 118 – Dan Conner

Listen Later

Solving Webcomic Issues We All Face.
Today’s discussion…
It’s the dream of many webcomic creators to leverage their work into a gig with a larger print comic publisher.  Today we’re talking with Dan Conner, who has a foot in both worlds.  Our discussion ranges far afield covering all sorts of topics, including:
Working for a publishing company vs Being an independent creator
Your personal brand is more than your content
Evolution of the comic industry
Captain America, Hydra Agent?
Merchandising for your own creator owned work
…it’s all things Robin finds very interesting. Perhaps too interesting. Did we mention it’s interesting? Interesting.  (“Please, Spock, do me a favor, and don’t say it’s fascinating.”)
More about today’s guest:
Dan Conner has worked as both an independent artist and as part of a team for comic publishers.  He’s been a letterer, colorist, inker, and writer on different projects for American Mythology Press (Casper the Friendly Ghost, Underdog, Three Stooges, Stargate: Atlantis) and Scholastic (Cleopatra in Space).  His earliest webcomic work started int 2002, and you may know of his works Heaven Forbid, which led to My Gal, the Zombie.
