There a few things we all hate… I hate cauliflower, I hate slivers, I hate dentists… I hate waiting. Wow what if you had to wait at a dentists office with a sliver of cauliflower stuck in your teeth… torture! just saying!  

Have you ever been put on hold - I was on hold for 2 hours once….

Ever wait in line…

Just wait… what does that mean to you?

Did you know that airports put your baggage claim stations as far away from your arrival gate as possible, that way once you get there it feels like you barely wait for your luggage.

What you do while you wait, will determine wether you will be average or be great! 

We hate waiting…

What do you do when you wait?

I always have a book on me… on my phone.

When I watch TV I am either on my computer, or on my guitar… rather than waiting on a commercial break.

When I am in my car I have about 60 podcasts that I listen to (or at least have to chose from to listen to) so I am not stuck in traffic for nothing.

When a project is in limbo, I start to plan what to do when it takes off or if it bombs.

Waiting is my bonus time to work on that which needs sharpening. 

I have also had to wait 3 agonizing days to see if Cancer had spread through out my body. Now that waiting was simply the most intense waiting I had ever gone through. But even in that I was still sharpening my plans for the future. I was thinking through my wife’s future, my kids and even my grandkids - and I didn’t have any at that point. 

Is. 40:31 Those that wait upon the Lord…

but those who wait/hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Wait/hope = you are expectantly waiting for God to show up in your circumstances. 

It puts a whole new spin on waiting. I commissioned an artist years ago for some paintings. He said it would take about a year… 

Now I had a few options when he said “year”.

I could have thought- is he lazy,

does he not know what he is doing?

Are others ahead of me?

Why does this take so long, its just 3 paintings…

But because I knew him my first thought was simply this…

Wow these are going to be awesome! 

When you are stuck in a time of waiting… use it for your good and also change your mindset from a negative… why me… to a positive Wow God!
