Hope deferred makes the heart sick. . . .
Proverbs 13:12
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Psalm 13:1-3
DETOUR
DROP OUT
DIVINE DELAY
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. . . .
Isaiah 40:31
Wait: Qavah
i. to look eagerly for;
ii. to lie in wait for;
iii. to hopefully wait;
iv. to expect
The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes. The Lord’s people have always been a waiting people.
~ Charles Spurgeon

I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
Psalm 77:7-12
I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”
Psalm 77:7-12
Trust in his promises
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him.
Psalm 37:5-7
