This week we’re taking a slightly different route. Think of this as a ‘Very Special Episode of Waiting 4 Wrath” but instead of 80’s cartoon characters telling you to beware of drugs, you have Big Gay Jim and myself discussing a couple of prepared topics. So tonight, Jim and I don’t have a specific news story to discuss, but instead, we’re bringing attention to certain issues that are important to us.
A brief window into their thoughts on the ladies. Women’s roles in the major religions:
* Islam/Koran “Men are above all the women because Allah has given one part a superiority over the other.”
* Confucius: “One hundred girls are not worth as much as one boy.”
* Hinduism: “A girl must be under the care of her father … in youth under the care of the husband and in old age under the care of her sons. But she should never be free and independent.” (Manu V. 148)
* Bible (Paul in a letter to the Ephesians): “The women shall be servant to the men who are their masters.”
* Mormonism: The Mormon position on women has changed little since the early 1800’s, when the official view was that “woman’s primary place is in the home,
