In episode 20 of our Waiting Well series, we join the prophet Jonah in the belly of the great fish. While there we listen intently to the content of Jonah's prayer as recorded in Jonah 2 and find out that we might have been thinking about Jonah wrong for quite sometime.
Jonah doesn't pray a prayer of repentance. He prays a prayer of thanksgiving for the fact that God has already saved him from the sea! However, he is going to wait for three days in the belly of that fish.
Perhaps we need to learn that sometimes God has already secured our salvation and protection but it still might feel dark and uncomfortable.
