You as the Object of Study: A Way to Reduce Your Human Suffering
“So many years of education, yet no one taught us how to love ourselves.” Anonymous. Since the moment of conception, we have learned about things other than ourselves. And then we reach a point in time in our lives, in our adulthood where we don’t know who the fuck we are and why we feel the way that we do. It is easy to get a diploma or degree, get a job, learn new skills but God forbid taking the time to study ourselves for fear of what we may find. We have become a slave to our distractions because we are so scared to be left alone with our thoughts, it is much easier to scroll through social media especially since our phones or devices are glued to our hands 24/7. And due to this we are more inclined to operate with the pleasure pain principle where we move closer to pleasure and further away from pain. But turning towards pain is where the real growth and development happens where aspects of your inner being which were dormant are now awakened because you had the courage to face your inner demons. There is always beauty that can arise from the darkness, just like how a lotus flower rises from the murkiest of waters and blesses us with its presence. And you, my fellow beautiful being, can experience this by making yourself An Object of Study.

Hello Beautiful Beings,
In today's society we want quick fixes and possibly to rely on others to solve our problems. However, I believe real growth and change takes time. It is about the journey, not the destination.
Enjoy and much love,
Carol:)
Hello Beautiful People,
There are many reasons why relationships fail and why they don’t. In this episode I will be diving into both of those aspects.
Much love and enjoy,
Carol:)
Hello Beautiful People,
You might be thinking what the fuck Carol, but I am being real here. How many of you out there are prostituting your values to make a quick buck? I would gather a very large percentage of you.
So, values are things you place high importance on, like honesty, trust, integrity or following your dreams, goals, and aspirations. Prostitution is going against those values to make a quick buck. Say you always wanted to be an Artist but people tell you there is no money in that and that you’ll be a starving artist. And then you listen to those Motha Fuckers and stay in your job as a Corporate Lawyer because it pays the bills, it’s safe, and you make so much money.
The crazy thing is you could have been the next Pablo Picasso but you never gave yourself the opportunity to explore or invest in your skill. And maybe being an artist leads you down a completely different path that is beyond anything you could have ever imagined. But you’ll never know because you never tried.
Yes, you pay the bills. However, I believe pursuing your purpose, passions, and dreams can also pay the bills, you just need to take risks and believe in yourself way beyond all that external noise and the internal noises as well that wants you to stay small and tells you can’t because you are not good enough.
I don’t know about you, but at the end of my life, I do not want to have to pay that bill of regret because that bill is what you’ll have to die with. So flip the script my friends, life or tomorrow is never guaranteed, live now knowing you gave yourself a chance at living your best life by pursuing your dreams serving humanity because there is nothing more fulfilling than that.
Much love and enjoy,
Carol:)
WHITE PRIVILEGE AND RACISM WITHIN RACES
I usually do not get involved in such discussions about White Privilege or Racism as I never want to put energy towards the cause and creation of an action that may deem to be negative or not in alignment. However, when speaking with my best friend about this very topic, I believe it can be discussed in a way to shift the narrative and determine what we, as a human race can do to become part of the solution rather than part of the problem. As the amazing Bruce Lee says, "“Do you know how I like to think of myself? As a human being. Because under the heavens, under the sky, there is but one family.”
And I am blessed and grateful to have Jessica Tornado Maronto and Yvener Duroseau to dive deep into White Privilege and Racism within Races. Read their amazing biographies below to see what there are doing to lift up humanity.
JESSICA TORNADO MARONTO
Jessica Tornado Maronto is the founder and executive director of SoLow Housing First (SHF), a nonprofit based in Chicago, Illinois, working to reduce housing insecurity through respite lodging. Driven by her desire to help others, she takes pride in providing creative solutions to fill community needs. She lives by this motto: "I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." E. B. White
Jessica’s background is in small business consulting, accounting, and construction. She utilizes a holistic technique with a life coaching complement to serve the needs of her clients. Her talents have been shared in the financial services, agriculture, medical, real estate and construction industries, and have positively impacted start-ups and established businesses across the United States.
Outside of her role at SoLow Housing First, Jessica enjoys traveling whenever possible, reading nonfiction, listening to
audiobooks, riding her bicycle and exploring all life has to offer. She moved to Chicago, Illinois from Kalamazoo, MI in late 2019. "
YVENER DUROSEAU
Yvener Duroseau was born in Haiti before moving to the United States and grew up learning Haiti’s profound history as the first nation in which a group of enslaved Africans came together to fight and win their independence. A creative soul passionate about cultivating emotional intelligence, Yvener is working towards his dreams of becoming a creative writer, author, and public speaker. His traits of being an excellent listener, disciplined, conscious, and confident in himself serve him well in these pursuits.
Yvener is an avid reader and enjoys watching inspiration and motivational content. His debut book, Alike Regardless, is an achievement he is rightfully proud to have accomplished. Alike Regardless: This Is Where It Began is an impassioned detailing of his experiences with racial profiling and discrimination, in and out of the workplace. It is a call to action for people to do better in recognizing the beauty and uniqueness throughout the human race and to cease wearing the blinders of bigotry and hate. The pages within the book are the safe space wherein he pours out his soul, the dreams he has for a more diverse and socially just world, and it will not fail to touch readers, prompting them to think more deeply about these issues.
When he is not writing, Yvener helps small businesses scale through digital marketing. He loves to travel and spend time with his wife, Kimberly, and their cat Luna are his more devoted fans and constant support system as he works towards his goals.
Hello Beautiful Beings,
Blaming others for why things do not work out in your life or why you feel a certain way is an easy cop out and puts you in victim mode. Owning your shit and claiming your power comes with taking responsibility and knowing what you have control over.
Much love,
Carol:)
