The Tax deadline in 2022 is three days later in 2022 due to a holiday only celebrated in Washington D.C. Michael Devine from the IRS tells WKEI that while April 15th is traditionally the tax filing deadline, it will be April 18th in 2022. This is because April 15th, 2022 falls on a day that Washington D.C, the District of Columbia, celebrates Emancipation Day. This means government offices will be closed on the 15th to honor the holiday and that includes the office of the Internal Revenue Service.
