Wake Up TriCounties Rapid Hawk Delivery

Listen Later

Recently, a new delivery service has begun operating in Kewanee. Rapid Hawk was an idea first conceived of by 16 year old Alex Ravelingeen to help people get things they needed as the pandemic was preventing some from being able to leave their homes. Sadly, almost 1 year to the day that this story is being published, Alex Ravelingeen, along with his cousin, Alondra Acosta, were killed in a tragic boating accident on the Rock River in Milan. Devastated, Alex's mother Adrienne decided that carrying out Alex's idea to create a local delivery service became her mission. Thus, Rapid Hawk was born. In October of 2020 Adrienne began placing signs and she soon found success. However, over the time that signs were placed on the lawns of those willing to post the signs, those same signs began to disappear. In a short span 19 signs had to be replaced after being stolen or destroyed. Is this a targeted campaign? Adrienne Ravelingeen tells RegionalDailyNews.com that she's not sure if someone is targeting the signs or if this is just random destruction but she hopes that with some attention it will stop and she can go back to doing what she set out to do, carry out Alex's wonderful idea which offers people the chance to have restaurant food delivery, grocery delivery or prescription delivery to their home.
