Listen Later

The weather has taken a stormy turn across the Kingdom of Fife this week.

While you are sheltering from the rain and wind catch up with the latest Walk Fife Podcast.

We have lots of outdoors and walking news from across the country and the Fife walking community.

National Getoutside day

On Sunday 30 September you could be part of something big. Something that’ll make you healthier and happier, and more connected with friends and loved ones. Because that’s when you can join Ordnance Survey’s National GetOutside Day. Sean and the Walk Fife team are looking forward to getting out and sharing their love of the outdoors and suggest one event in particular that might appeal to fellow Walk Fifers.

St Andrews Beach Clean

The Fife Coast and Countryside Trust are organising a clean of St Andrews West Sands beach on Saturday 22nd September between 10.30 and 12.30pm. There is no need to book as you can just turn up and lend a hand. The meeting point for those interest is the Sea Shell Cafe on West Sands Road. Make sure you wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions along with sturdy shoes.

Ash Dykes - Walking the Yangtze

Intrepid Welsh explorer Ash Dykes is currently attempting to walk the entire length of the Yangtze river that passes through the heart of China. The longest river in the world to flow through a single country. Its length has never been walked, until now. Sean shares his and the team’s fascination with this epic walking adventure and encourages listeners to join in on supporting Ash as he make history.

2019 Workshop Plans

The Walk Fife team are planning our programme for our free workshops in 2019. We would like to hear what skills Walk Fife could help you learn through one of our workshops. You can send us your ideas by emailing us at [email protected]
