On the road to Emmaus two disciples were walking away from Jerusalem, walking away from where they had hoped Jesus would ring in the Kingdom of God, walking away from the life they had been living for the last several years. For these disciples, the crucifixion of Jesus was not what they had in mind. Following Jesus had turned out differently than they hoped or expected. What about you?
