Today what came up is a metaphor that resonates deeply with me and, I believe, with many of you: walking in the dark. It's fascinating how our eyes adjust to darkness, allowing us to navigate familiar spaces like our homes with ease, without needing to flip on a light. This ability to adapt and move confidently in the dark is something we've all experienced.
This brings me to a reflection on working with top performers and high-impact individuals. Often, they feel they're doing just fine in the "dark," not realizing what they're missing. Imagine offering someone the ability to turn on the light, to see the world in vivid color and detail, yet they decline, content in their familiar darkness, because they don't "need it".
Even if we excel in the dark, discovering the light switch can transform our world. It unveils colors, details, and possibilities we never knew existed, making everything richer, easier, and more exciting. However, because we've learned to manage in darkness, we might overlook the opportunity to embrace the light, convincing ourselves we're okay without it.
So, I invite you to consider your own life. Where might you be 'in the dark,' even if you're managing well? What could it mean for you if the light were turned on? Remember that the light is available to all of us. By being open to the possibility of switching it on, we open ourselves to a world of infinite potential, to appreciate and enjoy more, to see and express the richness of life.
