If you don't know where you're going, you tend to wander to places you've been. This is not a bad thing, because the purpose of memory is to extract a lesson or an idea from the event being remembered. After this is completed, the memory fades.

The idea in hand then becomes a tool for creating your future.

Just don't waste time acquiring too many tools. Have faith in your own ability, because only a poor artist blames their tools for their shortcomings.
