Wandering Mindset- A mind that is easily distracted, unfocused, and prone to drifting away from God's will or important tasks. It can manifest as a lack of focus when you're studying thee Bible, praying, or just staying grounded in the present moment, as well as God's purpose for you.
Wandering thoughts can hinder spiritual growth:
1. Drift from God's word.
2. Promote lack of focus in prayer.
3. Lead to temptation and sin
4. Cause distractions
Biblical Examples of Wandering Mindsets
1. The Israelites in the Wilderness ( Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy)
2. Peter's Denial to Jesus (Luke 22:54-62)
3. The Prodigal Son ( Luke 15:11-32)
4. Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:8-16)
Pointers:
1. Renew your mind daily. (Romans 12:2)
2. Practice Spiritual Discipline
3.Seek Gods guidance
4. Find accountability
When you first notice these wandering thoughts, take them captive immediately. Taking captive means to recognize that they are there. Pray and ask God for guidance and His plans for you for that day. If they become to unbearable, please seek help, either physically or spiritually.
