John 21:1-11 - After everything they've been through, the disciples go fishing—and Jesus meets them there. We get Peter throwing himself into the water to get to Him, John quietly noting that everyone else used the boat, and Jesus already waiting on shore with breakfast. There's something wonderfully human here about being known so well by Jesus and still being invited deeper into relationship with Him.

John 20:19-31 - Thomas says plainly that he needs to see before he can believe, and Jesus meets him there. The wounds that once testified to Jesus' death become evidence of His resurrection, and we're left with a God who understands our fear and doubt while still calling us to move through them into belief and obedience.

John 20:1-18 - Mary doesn't recognize Jesus at first. She is standing in the middle of grief, trying to make sense of an empty tomb, and then He simply says her name: "Mary." We can't help but wonder what it means to know Jesus' voice so well that when He calls us by name, we recognize Him.

John 19:31-42 - I kept coming back to John's quiet insistence that he saw these things himself and that his testimony is true. He stayed through the crucifixion, watched Jesus die, and then had to live in the space between what Jesus had promised and what his eyes were telling him. It made me wonder what it looks like to stay when everything seems to say the promise cannot possibly be true.

John 19:16-30 - Even at the cross, I kept seeing the same thing that has followed Jesus from Gethsemane onward: He is still fully in authority, and He is still completely surrendered to the Father. He pauses to care for His mother, says, "It is finished," and then gives up His spirit—a Savior who was not overcome by what was happening to Him, but faithfully chose to walk all the way through it.

John 19:1-15 - Continuing the thread from Gethsemane and Jesus' arrest, this reflection sits with the contrast between how powerless Jesus appears and the authority He still possesses. Even while mocked, beaten, and moved steadily toward the cross, Jesus makes clear that Pilate's authority exists only because it has been given from above—and He continues willingly toward the sacrifice He came to make.

John 18:28-40 - Surrounded by political tension and people trying to decide what to do with Him, Jesus remains completely clear about who He is and the kingdom He came to establish. Following Pilate's questions about kingship and truth, this reflection turns the question back toward us: does the Jesus we believe in actually line up with the Jesus who reveals Himself in Scripture?

John 18:25-27 - Peter had been adamant that he would never deny Jesus, yet when events began unfolding in a way he may not have expected, he did exactly that. This reflection wonders whether Peter was experiencing a crisis of faith as the Jesus he thought he understood no longer seemed to match what was happening—and connects that tension to the moments when our own expectations of what God will do collide with reality.

John 18:12-24 - Carrying forward the realization that Jesus entered His arrest with full authority and purpose, this reflection looks at His words before Annas in a different light—not as defensiveness, but as a reminder that He had never hidden who He was. Following Jesus' words back into Isaiah and then forward to Caiaphas' earlier prophecy, the reflection traces the way Jesus openly fulfills what had already been spoken about Him.

John 18:1-11 - As Jesus is arrested, He is not powerless or overtaken—He remains fully in authority, even while willingly surrendering to the Father's plan and protecting the disciples entrusted to Him. From there, this reflection follows the contrast between Judas and the other disciples: being close to Jesus is not the same as surrendering to Him, leaving us with the question of who or what truly has our heart.
